Abstract

Pupils from France, Germany and Northern Ireland develop an understanding of how their respective societies integrate and live with immigrants as well as an awareness of the immigrants´ perspective in those countries. The pupils study and compare the respective legislation on citizenship in the participating countries, in international meetings they develop an understanding for areas of conflict (religion, value systems, gender expectations) and assume responsibility as citizens within their own countries. They compare and develop an awareness of the respective support systems at the schools as well as the areas which improve the relations between immigrants and the culture of origin.  They share experiences, perspectives and observations via the internet ( e-mail, website, chatroom ), create essays, posters, videos, powerpoint presentations, contact newspapers and local NGOs.
